I wonder who thought the Renault Wind was a good idea.

I think the Wind is a rarely seen car anywhere. It was a bit of a flop, and was cancelled after only 12822 cars sold over the course of 5 years, while their aim was 75000 for the first year, an 150000 a year after that!

Who would’ve guessed that a front wheel drive subcompact coupe/convertible two seater would fail?

Bored nihilistic French engineers in a dimlit cafee in Paris.

There are examples of very successful subcompact convertibles though. This however is not a subcompact, it’s even smaller. See that red Ford Ka next to it? That’s a segment below subcompact as well. The Wind being awkwardly styled doesn’t help either. It might’ve been too expensive as well, I’m not sure.

Point being: Its too damn small!
Although, was the mini coupe popular either?

The Mini coupe, or a mini-coupe? No on both accounts. Subcompact convertibles though... There are still a million of these things around, they’re everywhere still.

Is there something wrong with me for really liking these? :)
